Choosing a color scheme for your website

Some tips and tools

Choosing a color palette for your website can be daunting, especially if you are just starting. Here are some things to consider when approaching something like this.

Consider Color psychology

Each color has a different meaning. When establishing your brand, think of your audience and what emotions or feelings do you associate with your brand.

60–30–10 Rule

This is an interior decorating that can help you put a balanced color scheme together. 60% of your main color, 30% a secondary color, and 10% of an accent color.

Start with an image

This is a trick that I have used before. Drop an image in a tool like Adobe Color and it will generate a color palette for you. If the image is good, the colors are probably balanced and will translate well to web
